Van Damme Provides The Backbone For SA Touring's Rapid Growth

When Jake Staff began crafting custom looms and fly racks from his spare bedroom, he couldn’t have predicted the scale SA Touring would one day reach.

Now operating from a dedicated workshop in Norwich and serving clients across the UK, including chart-topping artists like Ella Eyre and Mae Muller, the company has become a go-to for premium touring solutions and cable manufacturing, with Van Damme at the heart of its operation.

"Everything we use has to be the best - from the cables to the heat shrink," said Staff, now Managing Director of SA Touring. "Van Damme is just the best on the market - it has a good aura in the industry. It doesn't melt, it doesn't shrink back - it's reliable and consistent. Even the guys in the workshop can tell the difference."

SA Touring became a limited company in 2022, after years of informal growth that started just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit. As the demand for custom cabling continued to grow, Staff made the leap into a full-time operation, eventually moving into a dedicated unit at the start of 2023. "Right now, about 80% of our work is manufacturing," he explained. "We've taken on staff, and we're building a new online store - it's been nonstop."

Van Damme cabling is used throughout SA Touring's builds, including Black Series multicore, Cat7, Blue Series and Cat5e. "We've used other cables in the past and you can really tell the difference," said Jake. "Some brands melt the second you put heat near them or shrink back when you're soldering. Van Damme just behaves better - it holds up and it's a lot nicer to work with."

SA Touring remains deeply embedded in the live events space, recently supporting Ella Eyre's performance on the main stage at Isle of Wight Festival with a full touring setup. As with all major projects, the team relied on Van Damme cabling to ensure reliability, performance and peace of mind on site.
