ALTERED IMAGES COMPLETE CONTRACT FOR CHRYSALIS

ALTERED Images, the fast growing London-based digital broadcast systems resellers, have just completed a major supply and installation contract for Chrysalis Television’s programming operation.
The new installation at Chrysalis Television’s London premises in Islington N1 comprises a dubbing bank, a duplication bank and a viewing bay, supporting the preparatory work for the company’s football, rallying, speedway and other programmes. Altered Images designed, delivered and installed the system, and also provided commissioning and full training for Chrysalis Television’s technical team.
The new duplication bank allows multi-format duplicating, with the signal source and destinations controlled by a Kramer 16x16 video and audio switching matrix.
Duplication can be made from and to Betacam SP PAL, NTSC, VHS, DV and DVD, and various audio sources. The new viewing bank allows for viewing material and duplication. Its scope was extended during the project, to provide a resource for the new Avid edit suites.
David Johnson, Altered Images’ Director, said: “This kind of rapid turnaround is something that’s increasingly being asked of us. Some of our clients can’t have any operational downtime during a normal working week, so we plan these jobs to be completed over a weekend to ensure they keep running.” (CD)
