New Head Of News Appointed For ITV West Country

ITV has announced the new Head of News for ITV West Country will be Nimesh Joshi, who is currently Programme and Digital Editor at ITV Central.

Nimesh has been in a leadership role within ITV News for more than a decade, with roles including Deputy Head of News at West Country in 2016 before becoming the Programme and Digital Editor for ITV Channel TV in Jersey and then moving into the same role at ITV Central.

Since joining as a production journalist in 2010, Nimesh has played a significant part in helping to develop the digital and diversity strategies across ITV News. He currently represents the region on the company's Inclusion and Diversity Council and has also been an important link between ITV News and journalism training courses across the country. He has played a key editorial role in Central's coverage of the Nottingham attacks which has just been nominated for a national RTS Award.

Nimesh was part of ITV's Amplify programme, which turbo-charged the leadership skills of senior leaders at ITV as part of its Diversity Acceleration Plan (more information can be found here).

Nimesh said: "To come back to ITV West Country as Head of News is both a real honour and privilege, especially at such an exciting time for ITV News. It's an incredible and varied patch, which is really exciting - especially in the year of the General Election and with all the great work I've seen on the West Country regional rail on ITVX."
