Hanno Basse To Be Keynote Speaker At 2023 SMPTE Media Technology Summit

SMPTE® has officially confirmed Hanno Basse as the keynote speaker for the 2023 SMPTE Media Technology Summit.

Basse is the current chief technology officer of Digital Domain and has over 30 years of industry experience.

SMPTE RIS Camera Lens Prior to his position at Digital Domain, Basse served as CTO of Microsoft Azure Media and Entertainment. His time there was spent spearheading collaborative efforts on content production/postproduction workflows for studios, implementing cloud and AI technology, and interacting with various partners and industry groups to ensure production specifications.

Basse is also the former CTO at 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. While there, he was instrumental in implementing cutting-edge technologies like high-dynamic range and Ultra HD, driving the film industry's technological advancement to new heights.

Before that, he served as the senior vice president of Broadcast Systems Engineering for DirecTV, where he oversaw the organization's transition to HD and pioneered its video-on-demand infrastructure, setting new standards for the broadcast industry.

The 2023 SMPTE Media Technology Summit is the Society's annual technical conference that brings together global industry leaders to share their latest research findings and offer solutions to industry issues while providing a space for professionals to network and learn.
