Intinor To Display Tools For Remote Production, Contribution And Distribution

News Image
Intinor is to celebrate IBC – and the company's 20th anniversary – with a presentation of its innovative tools for remote production, contribution and distribution.

New products, including a backpack link for news and sports, will be showcased at IBC2023 (Amsterdam RAI, 15 – 18 September, stand 5.F55).

Intinor provides a unique approach to contribution quality links over the internet, thanks to its own proprietary Bifrost transport protocol. This adaptive bitrate protocol incorporates very sophisticated forward error correction and retransmission algorithms, providing highly reliable content delivery, coupled with ultra-low latency of less than half a second. The platform supports network bonding and receiver bonding to provide extended bandwidth and greatly enhanced robustness. Network management and monitoring is simple and straightforward.

Central to the company's success is the popular Intinor Direkt router series, which provides high density encoding and decoding, with as many as 16 SDI I/O channels in a single 2U device. IBC2023 will see a new compact and portable Direkt link, suitable for use in a backpack and ideal for single camera sports and news work which relies on agile crews. Designed for multi-vendor interoperability, the Direkt series now supports DVB signals, making it a strong choice for distribution as well as contribution, between different companies and linking different vendors.

What makes the new Direkt link so powerful is that it creates a true point-to-point connection, where competing devices route the signal to the cloud and then to the receiver. As well as reducing costs, this slashes the latency ensuring the fastest possible link live to air.

"Our high quality, simple to manage and fast to establish links are making a huge impact in broadcast," said Daniel Lundstedt of Intinor. "But the technology is also very valuable in many other areas, whether that is esports or houses of worship or any other application that needs a simple way to move signals. We continue to build on our core technologies, driven by the demands and expectations of our users, and we look forward to more exciting engagement with them at IBC this year."

Intinor also support open standards including SRT, RIST and NDI, making them simple to integrate into multi-vendor systems and automated solutions. The technology includes the ability to connect intercoms for production communications, including full support for AES67 digital audio, and again seamlessly interconnecting with legacy systems in the customer’s infrastructure.
