Toshiba chooses Sonic Technology for entire line of PCs

Sonic Solutions, a leading supplier of DVD/CD creation software for professional, industrial and consumer applications, has announced that Toshiba has chosen to bundle Sonic RecordNow! with its entire line of PCs worldwide and to include Sonic PrimeTime DVD burning in all of its Windows XP Media Center Edition PCs.
The collaboration allows Toshiba to provide its users with proven, powerful CD and DVD burning technology that gives them the ability to easily create music CDs, copy CDs/DVDs, and share or protect photos, financial records, and other important data on optical media.
In addition, users of Toshiba’s Media Center Edition PCs will be able to use Sonic PrimeTime to easily burn TV shows and other video content to DVDs that can be played back on any of the hundreds of millions of set-top and PC-based DVD players worldwide.
“We are delighted and honored that Toshiba has chosen to use our RecordNow! technology on an exclusive worldwide basis as the CD-burning solution for all of its PC models,” said Koki Terui, senior vice president of Pacific Rim Operations at Sonic. “Together we provide an exceptional combination of features, performance, and award-winning ease-of-use that makes it fun and simple for Toshiba customers to burn CDs and DVDs while ensuring that recorded files are preserved with a maximum of data integrity.”
Sonic RecordNow! makes it easy for Toshiba users to take the guesswork and complexity out of CD and DVD burning. With an award-winning task-based user interface designed by usability professionals, RecordNow! includes all of the features both novice and advanced users need to create music CDs, data CDs and DVDs, exact disc copies, disc images, file archives, and bootable discs. In addition, the included Sonic Recovery Disc Creator software gives Toshiba PC users the option to quickly and conveniently create system software restore discs for use when restoring the original system configuration.
Sonic PrimeTime’s large on-screen menus combined with the Media Center electronic program guide make it simple for Toshiba users with Media Center Edition PCs to browse and select their favorite shows and record them to DVDs that can be played back on standard set-top DVD players and PCs. Sonic PrimeTime also includes a built-in Bit Budget™, which makes it easy to see how much space is available on each recorded DVD. Once PrimeTime starts burning a DVD, the user may continue watching TV or listening to music on the Media Center PC.
