DORE APPOINTED CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER FOR ITV

SIMON DORE, currently Chief Technical Officer for ITV Digital has been appointed to the new post of Chief Technical Officer for ITV, reporting to ITV Chief Executive Stuart Prebble.
He will take responsible for technology across all the ITV businesses, ITV Digital, ITV Channels and ITV Interactive. He will also take over responsibility for the IT function within the ITV Network, which previously reported to Kate Stross, ITV Operations and Development Director. Mike Snalam, ITV Network Director of Engineering, will now report to Dore.
Prebble said: “We are continuing the process of bringing all the ITV businesses together to maximise the opportunities for rationalising and for improving the performance of all the businesses. Simon’s appointment is a significant step in this process.”
Dore joined ONdigital as ITV Digital was then called as Operations Director in September 1999. Before that he had been Director of Channel Development at Granada Media.
His background covers broadcasting, technical areas and interactive services. He was previously Director of Broadcasting at Granada Sky Broadcasting and before that Managing Editor at BBC Worldwide Television. (CD)
