Test & Measurement Solutions For The Globally Evolving Broadcast Media Market

'The only constant in life is change' sounds like a phrase created to define the electronics industry. It is usually attributed to Greek philosopher Heraclitus who flourished 2,700 years ago. Leader Electronics is in that context a comparatively young organisation but one which has lived up to its name as an industry innovator since its formation in the early 1950s.

An ongoing change which largely defined 2022 in the broadcast media business was the accelerating adoption of IP-based system infrastructure after decades of SDI-based workflow. The main theme of our exhibit at the April 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas was 'Making Your SDI/IP Transition Smooth'.

Early in Q7, we announced major additions to the feature set of the Leader LVB440 IP Analyzer. These expand the analyzer's IP traffic and signal monitoring resources by adding signal generation tools plus the ability to monitor and analyze SR Live Metadata.

Highlights of our Inter BEE exhibit in November included enhanced SDI and IP test and measurement capabilities for instruments in the Leader ZEN series. Supplementing the many technician-focused tools, our intuitive CINEZONE and CINELITE continue to be integral features of all ZEN models, familiar to many camera crews, editors and colorists.

2022 sales successes included one of the world's highest profile international sports events. Among projects that we are at liberty to discuss was the choice of Leader LV5600 reference instrumentation by Cromorama, a specialist in film and television color management, for use at its Warsaw headquarters and on location.

ITN Productions joined the ever-expanding list of companies choosing Leader equipment and services to meet their test and measurement requirements. Leader's LV7600 12G-SDI rasterizing waveform monitor was chosen as the primary reference for a newly completed 4K DCI facility at ITN's Central London headquarters.

Telewizja Polsat, one of Poland's largest broadcast media companies, chose Leader reference signal generators and hybrid IP/SDI test and measurement instruments for a recently completed IP-based 4K HDR outside broadcast camera truck. The 14 metre long vehicle incorporates Leader's latest technologies including an LT4610 IP/SDI video sync generator, LV5600 IP/SDI waveform monitors, an LV7600 rasterizer and an LT4448 emergency changeover unit.

As we progress into 2023 and beyond, Leader will continue to respond to broadcast media business expectations with robust, precise, efficient and flexible test and measurement solutions to meet the needs of the industry at its widest.
