VRT Signs Contract For Multi-Year License Of OOONA Integrated Platform
OOONA has announced that VRT has signed a contract for a multi-year license of the OOONA Integrated platform.
VRT is the Belgian-Flemish public service broadcaster. With three TV channels, five radio stations and an online video platform, it creates and distributes high-quality diverse programs that reach 90% of the Flemish community. VRT's goal is to promote pluralistic debate and strengthen democracy by propagating the Flemish identity through a unique cultural and language experience. Aside from its distinctive content, the broadcaster achieves this through a host of localization services. These include live and offline subtitling for both hearing and hard-of-hearing viewers, audio description and audio subtitling for the visually impaired, plus Flemish language voiceover and dubbing.
VRT has gone live with the OOONA Integrated platform which is now available for use by its in-house localization team. An API connection provides the link for VRT localization orders to be created directly on OOONA. Resource planning includes the customary ADFS security authentication. Once localization production is complete on the OOONA platform, content is pushed back to the VRT servers for broadcast.
"This integration includes a multilayer functionality in OOONA’s Create Pro tool for subtitling that was developed at the request of the VRT team," said Karl Imbrechts, manager at DigiNet and OOONA reseller in Belgium and the Netherlands.
"We are very pleased to be working with the OOONA team," added VRT project manager Erik Phalet. "They are great at listening, understand the market well and have responded quickly to our request to customize their platform to our exact needs."
