Brown Bear Audio Expands Facility To Meet Demand

News Image
Audio post-production company Brown Bear Audio has expanded its facility with the addition of a new Dolby Atmos suite and dedicated podcasting studio.

Established in 2012 and specialists in delivering sound post-production services remotely, Brown Bear Audio were already ahead of the curve when the pandemic hit and have seen substantial growth over past 18 months as traditional workflows continue to be disrupted.

In order to meet demand Brown Bear Audio has already expanded their remote team and the next step was to expand facilities. "We have seen the demand for Dolby Atmos increase year on year and we felt it was time to make the investment," said Thomas Dalton owner of Brown Bear Audio. "Although the industry has moved towards remote working clients still need a professional environment where they can hear their content reproduced accurately, especially with immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos. We are also experiencing a boom in podcasting, which has resulted in a demand for facilities where people can create audio content. We saw this opportunity and decided to build a state of the art podcasting studio that offers producers all the tools they need to create professional audio content."

The new Dolby Atmos suite will enable Dalton to meet the evolving demands of clients and branch out into this exciting format. "Dolby Atmos is now a standard delivery requirement for many of the streaming platforms and the new suite will allow us to take on bigger projects and expand our client base."

Daltons aim for the business is to continue being the leading provider of sound post-production services in Brighton and the new facility ensures he offers the best onsite, remote and hybrid workflows. "Through our new podcasting studio we hope to become the go to facility in the South East for people looking to produce professional audio content."

The two new studios were built completely from scratch in what was an open plan space so it was a big project to undertake. It took longer than expected as there were a few issues along the way with the team having to self-isolate twice due Covid outbreaks. Brown Bear Audio has added a space that is comfortable to work in for long periods of time and also sounds great. The new Atmos suite will predominantly be used for in-house projects but is available for dry hire.
