Telecast's CopperHead Cine selected by Bexel and Wexler

Telecast Fiber Systems’ newly redesigned CopperHead Cine camera-mounted fibre optic transceiver is already in use by broadcast rental equipment providers Bexel Systems and Wexler Video for the production of episodic and reality television programming.
The upgraded CopperHead Cine, nicknamed the ‘skinny cine’, allows the companies to provide their clients with a portable, long-distance transmission solution that is well suited for varying production demands.
"The latest CopperHead Cine is smaller and lighter than the older system, so it's easier to mount on the cameras and to move in and out of studios," explained Bexel Director of HD Services John Keesee. "The extreme distance capability that the CopperHead Cine offers as a fibre optic system is central to our clients' selection of this system.
"Bexel has already provided the system to a number of its clients. The nature of episodic production requires the flexibility to shoot away from the stage on a regular basis. With the CopperHead Cine, our clients have the ability to keep all their gear in one place and run just the cameras outside."
