Media 100 ships 844/X Version 3

Media 100 has announced first customer shipment of the ‘Visual Effects’ release-new Version 3 software for 844/X.
This upgrade is the largest software expansion of 844/X since its inception in 2002 and advances 844/X with many new capabilities, including an advanced, real-time, high-precision keyer; Real-time 3D digital video effects (DVEs); Real-time shadow and glow effects; Up to 60-fold faster long-form/high layer-count editing; And XML-based metadata interchange.
"We're continuing to develop 844/X at a rapid pace, and we couldn't do it without the direct feedback we get from the hundreds of 844/X installations around the world," said Rick Keilty, vice president of product marketing at Media 100. "Most of the Version 3 feature set was driven by their input. In addition, many of the new features leverage the architectural flexibility of the GenesisEngine, allowing us to reconfigure the multiple parallel-processing pipelines to perform complex keying and visual effects operations, all in real-time."
