ITV2 Commissions Two Seasons Of 'Weekender' Plus Spin Off

News Image
ITV2 has commissioned two series of popular show 'Weekender' and spin off show 'The Weekender Boat Party'.

Twofour and Motion Content Group will produce the series which sees the weekender reps work aboard a yacht as they tour party hotspots.

Weekender's latest series, which has recently concluded its run on ITV2, saw the highest viewing figures yet, peaking at 1 million. The series achieved an average share of around 10% for 16-34s, 18% increase on last series.

'Ibiza Weekender' was also amongst ITV2's top performing content so far this year, receiving the most views.

Ibiza Weekender follows a lively group of new and returning holiday reps as they give their guests the time of their lives on this renowned holiday island. With a fixed rig capturing the heady combination of sun, freedom, friendship and romance across a season, the Weekender brand is a reality show with soap style storylines.

Satmohan Panesar, Commissioner, ITV2,  said: "There is only one Weekender and its ever growing young audience are in for a treat when we set sail this summer and then return to Ibiza for more high jinx with our favourite group of reps."

Gyles Neville, Executive Producer, Twofour, added: "We are delighted with Weekender's continuing success and growing fan base – its unique down to earth characters continue to be engaging in a way that makes us all want to be a part of their holiday season – and with a Boat Party on board, the brand is even more accessible and aspirational than ever."

Ibiza Weekender and The Weekender Boat Party (w/t) will be executive produced by Gyles Neville for Twofour and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group. The series were ordered by commissioner Satmohan Panesar for ITV2. Air dates for all three series are to be confirmed.

The brand is represented internationally by Twofour Rights and Motion Content Group.
