Dielectric Extends Signal Coverage For EPTV

Dielectric has announced that EPTV has significantly improved over-the-air performances for their key stations in Campinas and Ribeirão Preto in the state of Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Dielectric, a pioneer in purpose-engineered and quality manufactured antennas and RF systems for TV and FM broadcasters, is working closely with in-country partner IF Telecom. It has custom engineered and delivered Dielectric TFU Series UHF slot antennas for EPTV.

The antennas, all tuned for digital channel 25, are elliptically polarized to improve coverage in congested downtown areas as well as improving mobile reception driven by the ISDB-Tb standard.

The order includes a top-mounted TFU-GTH main antenna in each city, and side-mounted TFU-DSB antennas as auxillary system backups. All four antennas are lightweight with low windload, and the side-mounted antennas are attached to aluminum pole structures to further reduce overall tower load. The top mount antennas are fully weather-protected with Dielectric's special radome designs.

Dielectric's software-defined design processes and efficient manufacturing accelerated production and delivery to EPTV, ensuring that antennas were delivered shortly after construction of EPTV's new, taller tower in Campinas. Since going live with their new antenna systems, EPTV reports broader coverage and positive feedback from viewers, which has positioned them in a strong competitive position against other broadcasters in the region.
