RFI EXPAND PRO-BEL MADI AUDIO ROUTER

RADIO France International (RFI) are reaching a wider audience thanks to the recent expansion of their Pro-Bel MADI audio router.
RFI first purchased their MADI audio router in 1998. The original size was 504 x 672 - with the redundant router being 112 x 112. Controlled via Pro-Bel's router control system and utilising their wide range of modular conversion products, the system has been the main router for all studio and transmission feeds.
Recent developments have taken the MADI to 504 x 784 and the redundant router to 112 x 224. All studios have a range of control panels for easy and reliable switching.
Expansion was designed with broadcasting in DVB in mind and phrase 3 is already being discussed - the MADI router being at the heart of these plans. With the increase in the number of transmission feeds required, together with the company's expansion vision, MADI was by far the best choice - both technically and from a budget point of view.
The main application of the router is to feed the DVB transmitters.
Previously, a manual patch panel was used. Quality and reliability were key points in deciding which equipment to purchase and their positive experience with the MADI router gave Radio France International total confidence in deciding to expand their existing router. (CD)
