Quantum's Xcellis Foundation Extends Access Of StorNext Workflow Storage
Quantum has extended its award-winning Xcellis® workflow storage family with the new entry-level Xcellis Foundation system, which offers a configuration and functionality targeted to the needs of small to medium postproduction facilities and corporate video departments.
Powered by Quantum's industry-leading StorNext® shared file system and data management platform, Xcellis Foundation delivers the benefits of enterprise-class Xcellis storage at an affordable price without compromising performance or scalability. Xcellis Foundation empowers organizations to work with higher video resolutions, including 1080p and 4K, without introducing complexity or unnecessary cost to the workflow.
The system boasts the industry's fastest streaming file system, as well as advanced data management capabilities that optimize performance and maximize capacity while assuring that content is always in the right place at the right time.
Xcellis Foundation arrives preconfigured with StorNext 6, iSCSI disk connectivity, dual 10 GbE, NAS and a choice of three storage capacities: 48, 72 and 96 TB raw. Based on a single-node version of the Xcellis Workflow Director, the system scales both capacity and performance by adding additional disk arrays. Recent advancements included in StorNext 6 provide non-disruptive storage expansion and data rebalancing.
In addition to enabling unlimited scalability through readily extended capacity, connectivity and redundancy, StorNext ensures the seamless integration of Xcellis Foundation into a multi-tier storage infrastructure that includes nearline object storage, cloud storage and tape archive. Xcellis Foundation owners can also take advantage of built-in FlexTier™ cloud data management to automatically archive data to popular public cloud services.
