Second 'Cormoran Strike' Novel Has Been Adapted

The second novel in the Cormoran Strike series, The Silkworm, has been adapted for a new television series for BBC One, it has been announced.

Tom Burke stars as Cormoran Strike, a war veteran-turned-private detective operating out of an office in London's Denmark Street. Wounded physically and psychologically, his insight – as well as his background as an SIB Investigator – are key to solving three complex cases which have eluded the police.

His assistant Robin, is played by Holliday Grainger. Initially, she begins as a temporary secretary, managing Strike's chaotic life, but she soon becomes involved with his caseload and begins to see her potential.

The crime novels are by J.K. Rowling – and written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The adaptation has been written by Tom Edge and is directed by Kieron Hawkes. Brontë Film and TV are the producers. The project marks a continuation of the BBC's relationship with Brontë Film and TV and J.K. Rowling. Brontë Film & TV produced J.K. Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy, a three-part serial drama, which aired on BBC One in 2015.
