New music clearance service launched

Veteran UK music supervisor Don Gallacher has formed a cut-down music clearance service, Cue The Music.
As one of the few full-service, script-to-post music supervisors in the UK, copyright clearance and music cue sheets are a part of Gallacher's job. However, many television drama, documentary and corporate productions don't have the budget to hire a full time music supervisor. What they will always need though is copyright clearance of any songs or records used and the accurate creation and delivery of a music cue sheet.
Cue The Music does this at a fixed, affordable fee.
Gallacher said: "Too many productions either fall foul of music copyright problems or avoid using songs or records altogether due to lack of expertise in this field. In TV drama and documentary an independent producer will give up his or her worldwide copyright in the production to the principal broadcaster simply to gain access to the music 'blanket agreement'. Cue The Music are already helping new clients worldwide, from the UK to Turkey and Australia."
