Discreet systems to support HDCAM-SR devices

Discreet are to work with Sony to deliver next generation HDTV production capabilities based on Sony’s new high-quality 4:4:4 RGB digital media devices.
These devices include the HDCAM-SR videotape recorders and specially formulated BCT-SR videocassettes capable of recording full-resolution RGB digital HD component video.
“The bridge between Sony HDCAM-SR and Discreet’s acclaimed inferno, fire, flame, and smoke products will have a huge impact on high-end post production workflows and productivity," said Kimio Tatsutomi, general manager, post production division, Q-TEC Inc., Tokyo, Japan. “Discreet’s products are the industry standard and they support HDCAM-SR with new 720p capabilities and superior 10-bit, 4:4:4 image quality, providing the optimal solution for high-quality HDTV post-production for the future.”
Discreet will showcase this technology at the Inter BEE Exhibition in Japan, November 19-21, 2003.
