VideoForum 2002 – the essential industry showcase

THE UK’s largest video technology showcase, VideoForum 2002, is set to open on February 5 in London’s Wembley Hall 1.
This year’s event will showcase the work of 120 exhibitors from the industry’s leading companies, including representatives from Film&Video who will be on hand at Stand 243. With the number of free seminars available to visitors doubled, new business workshops, open panel discussions and debates led by industry experts, the event provides a unique opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in the marketplace.
Billed as an event of ‘New Opportunities To Take Charge’, visitors to the video and television production sector will find an array of technology on display enhancing the quality of programmes at increased cost-efficiency.
The main prong of VideoForum is to keep practitioners up with the ever-evolving television and video industry, to build on existing skills and develop new ones as more projects demand forward-thinking programme making.
Free seminars and master classes have been arranged for pre and post-production, new media, and business strategies. The production and post-production seminars, sponsored by Televisual, will include sessions on camera skills and lighting techniques, sound engineering, advanced editing, 3D effects and format selection. The new media sessions, sponsored by Digit, will feature seminars on the latest developments in DVD authoring and video streaming. Business workshops, sponsored by AV, will include market analysis, pitching and business development. Places are limited and advance booking is recommended at seminar registration in Hall 1.
Representing the audio aspects of the industry, Sounds Expo will be launched alongside VideoForum 2002 to highlight the audio equipment, sound-editing systems, and state-of-the-art software on offer. The joint enterprise will attract interest from across the broadcast production industry, from camera operators, lighting directors, studio and sound engineers, AV technicians, editors, content creators or DVD producers. Clearly, VideoForum 2002 will offer much to every aspect of the industry.
Entry to VideoForum is free. Visitors can register in advance to obtain fast-track entry and to information on special offers at the show. Check out the details on the seminars and master classes being run during the show by visiting www.videoforum.co.uk
