Aardman complete asthma treatment commercial

Aardman have recently completed 'The Asthma Treatment', a commercial for GSK's Advil, with Ogilvy New York.
An Aardman spokesperson said: "The commercial features a man who takes his love interest on a series of dates, but is pestered at inopportune moments by his asthma creature, the personification of the main symptoms of an asthma attack. This two-headed creature, Connie and Flammy, represents the two main symptoms, constriction and inflammation. The man can see him but the lady cannot and she is puzzled by the man's seemingly bizarre behaviour. The creature bothers him in the hallway of his lady friend's apartment block, at the cinema, at a restaurant, ruffling his hair and tickling him. Of course GSK Advil wins the day curbing the lovestruck man of his asthma attacks."
The commercial is a creative combination of live action and computer animation, with live action tracking was completed in 2D3's Boujou.
All of the modelling, fur, animation and rendering was done in Alias's Maya 5. Texturing was done in Right Hemispheres Deep Paint 3D and Adobe Photoshop 7 and postproduction was done in Adobe After Effects 5.5.
