Ewan McGregor to star in Scottish digital film

News Image
Ewan McGregor is set to star in Denis Lawson's 'Solid Geometry', which represents part of the New Found Land digital film project for 2002 and produced by Gill Parry of Stella Maris Films.
In a joint statement, Steve McIntyre, Chief Executive of Scottish Screen (pictured) and Sandy Ross, Managing Director of Scottish Television, said: "This confirms the status of the New Found Land project when actors of Ewan's ability and stature are prepared to act in the films.
"It's a wonderful opportunity for the whole production team to work with someone who has experience of the most sophisticated and polished Hollywood studio production methods. We were trying to keep Ewan's involvement secret but he is so honest that when he was asked by the press at the Empire Film Awards what he was doing next he was so excited about the project he simply told them - so now we are trying to keep secret where we are filming!"
The New Found Land Project, now in its third year, is funded by SMG Television and the Scottish Screen Lottery. The scheme aims to encourage producers to use and understand digital processes by exploring digital production techniques.
