NIFTC launches two new development funds

The Northern Ireland Film & Television Commission (NIFTC) today launched a new £1.5 million Company Development Fund which aims to provide a limited number of NI based independent production companies with financial support to assist growth.
The three-year funding scheme, which is a joint initiative between the NIFTC and Invest NI, was launched on the same day as the new Product Development Fund, a slate funding scheme designed to encourage the presentation of more fully developed programme proposals to network or international broadcasters. This fund has a budget of £250,000 over a 3 year period.
Commenting on the schemes, NIFTC’s Chief Executive, Richard Williams said: “We are very excited to be rolling out these two significant programmes for the independent production sector. It is now up to the individual companies to maximise the potential value of these funds with bold and clearly focused project or business plans”.
Parties interested in either fund can contact the NIFTC on 028 9023 2444 or visit their website at www.niftc.co.uk.
