Michael McIntyre Back On BBC One

News Image
Michael McIntyre is to return to BBC One with a new series of Michael McIntyre's Big Show, it has been confirmed.

The six-part series will be recorded in front of a live audience at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and will involve celebrity guests, musical performances and some of McIntyre's fellow comedians.

The show is expected to return to the channel later this year.

It has been commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One, and Acting Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, Alan Tyler. It will be produced by Hungry McBear Media. Dan Baldwin and Claire Horton are executive producers.

Commenting on the announcement, McIntyre said: "I'm thrilled to be back on BBC One with my new big show which, after several lengthy meetings, we've called 'Michael McIntyre's Big Show'. There will be big laughs, big stars and big surprises! I'm so excited to be making an entertainment show for the whole family to enjoy together on Saturday night (or alone in the week on iPlayer, whatever suits!). I can't wait to get started!"

Alan Tyler, Controller of BBC Entertainment Commissioning, added: "Michael McIntyre is a born entertainer. Not only is he one of the funniest comedians in the country but he is also terrific with members of the audience. Combining those skills in an all-new show is a real treat. We are delighted to be bringing his first Saturday night entertainment series to BBC One audiences."
