DGP deliver 'Little Robots' cinema commercial

DGP have just completed postproduction for Create TV & Film's 'Little Robots' cinema commercial.
Little Robots is a children's TV series co-produced by Create TV & Film and the BBC, with 13 episodes already transmitted, there was a wealth of material to create the commercial. Off lined in Avid at standard TV 625 resolution and conformed in DGP's Discreet Smoke suite from the Digi Beta masters, for on line at cinema resolution. The completed commercial was output to a portable disk drive for delivery to MPC for the final digital to 35mm transfer.
DGP's MD, Mark Gardner, said: "I still can't get over the quality that is achieved from a Digi Beta master. On the cinema screen, it looks as though we had been working in HD or 2K all the way. The Smoke system does an extraordinarily good job 'up-resing' the SD information, not only that, I get it round to Matt at MPC on a disk drive that fits in my pocket!"
