DVS announce support for Varicam

The new improved DVS' HD-software (version 2.6) now supports the variable frame rate in Panasonic cameras.
The disk recorders HDStationPlus/RGB, the on-set capturing system DVS CineControl and the real-time editing workstation CLIPSTER all now recognize the active frames of the 60 pictures per second transfer. They store only these active frames allowing for slow and fast motion capturing. The DVS systems filter out the redundant data and thereby greatly reduces the overall amount of material stored.
The variable frame rate feature was developed by Panasonic to allow the digital Varicam (AJ-HDC27) to record both slow and fast motion frame sequences. According to the desired motion effect the frame rate can be set from 4 to 60 frames per second. Recording is done, for example, in high definition at 60 frames per second, even if a feature film project requires 24 frames, or a TV program 25 frames per second.
The improved software from DVS now supports ANC metadata allowing the storing of time-code information via an HD-SDI link. ANC can be stored with the video data in DPX-file format. This seamless data transfer allows viewing the footage on the user interface during play-out.
