Canford Announces New Products For BVE

Canford Audio has announced it will be making multiple product launches at this year's BVE show at the London ExCeL.

Upgrades have now been implemented for the company's IP addressable Mains Distribution Units (MDUs) and a working sample will be available for demo at BVE. Two NEW MDU models will be available:

• 1U 'Base' model with 15 x fused IEC outlets, Bi-Colour LEDs and available in switched and un-switched options.

• 1U Twin input MDU 2 x 7 way fused IEC outlets, independent feeds, Bi-colour LEDs options available IEC or Powercon inputs, switched or un-switched.

Canford Audio also announced the launch of Draka CAT6 cabling system incorporating CAT6 UTP & F/STP cables, Patch panels and outlets (Keystone & punch down modules), ideal for studio and fixed installations.

The Draka system has been specifically designed for data transmission and combines high-capacity with a flexible cable concept. Draka CAT6 Cable is also available in LSHF jacket for unshielded and shielded solutions.

The company is also launching two new 1U Keystone panels. Using keystone modules, these panels give integrators the opportunity to offer a solution to their customers. Modules are interchangeable to allow a panel to be made using CAT5E, CAT6, Fibre, USB, HDMI modules etc. They are offered in two versions, 'Keystone' cut outs or 'D' cut outs with keystone adaptor plates. Sample panels will be on show at BVE.

Canford Audio will also unveil the DR-10X Plug-On Recorder from Tascam. The DR-10X connects directly to a microphone via locking 3-pin XLR, and is compatible with Dynamic or self-powered Electret mics. Measuring approximately 95mm tall, 19mm deep and just 52mm wide, the DR-10X weighs in at just 68g, including a single AAA battery which provides up to eight hours recording.

The system records mono WAV (BWF) audio files to a micro SD/microSDHC memory card (up to 32GB capacity) at 48 kHz/24-bit resolution.

The DR-10X provides adjustable recording level with switchable auto level control, low-cut filter and switchable limiter to prevent clipping. A dual recording function simultaneously creates a duplicate back-up track at a lower level, to provide replacement undistorted audio during post-production, if the main audio track has been overloaded. A 3.5mm headphone socket is available, making it possible to check recordings in the field.

Connection to a PC or MAC is via micro USB (type B) for file transfer.
