Sony Highlights A Year Of 4K At BVE 2015

Sony will return to BVE this year to showcase its range of 4K and HD technologies and workflow solutions.

Sony's stand will feature the latest generation of XDCAM products, as well as the BVM-X300 4K Monitor (making its European debut), as well as the PXW-FS7, PXW-X200 and PXW-Z100.

Visitors to the Sony stand at BVE 2015 (F50) will be given a demo of the company's latest developments in 4K. It follows a year of broadcast landmarks that saw Sony redefine what is possible in terms of 4K performance and viewing experiences.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup saw Sony partner with select firms to deliver three matches in 4K, including a quarter final match and the final itself. These were streamed live to digital cinema screens for the first time ever in Ultra High Definition.

Sony and Televisual will this year be sponsoring the 4K theatre. Presentations will offer insights into the latest 4K developments in acquisition, post production and delivery through a variety of panel discussions and case study sessions.

This year's BVE will see the European show debut for the 30-inch BVM-X300 4K OLED Monitor. Fitting into Sony's established XDCAM and 4K workflows, the monitor is aimed at content producers looking to create a full and seamless HD or UHD workflow.

The BVM-X300 is suitable for a range of applications such as colour grading and quality control in 4K. In addition, the BVM-X300 supports High Dynamic Range mode and a wide colour gamut conforming, meaning "the black is black" and peak brightness can be reproduced more realistically with colours that are typically saturated.

David Cheesman, North European Sales Manager at Sony Europe, commented: "BVE is always an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our latest solutions and customer projects in the UK. We'll be showing the strength of our line-up, enabling customers to use the best tools from acquisition to post-production."
