Avitel launches digital video modular switcher

To complete their range of modular switchers, Avitel have launched their new DSW3454 digital video switcher.
The DSW3454 can be rack mounted in the standard 3400 series Avitel frame, or supplied in the new single-module box.
The DSW3454 provides switching of up to eight serial digital video input signals to either of the two output buses. Control is made via the module's own front-panel switches, by means of a separate rack mounted remote control panel, or over a remote network using Avitel's DART control and monitoring system in conjunction with the Avitel superDART PC based control utility. All outputs are reclocked.
As with all Avitel switchers, the DSW3454 can be operated as a single module, or as a part of a block of modules with a common control in conjunction with other switchers. This provides an audio-follow-video capability when used with the NSW3464 (digital) or ASW3434 (analogue) audio switchers, of particular interest to users who do not employ embedded audio transport.
The DSW3454 can also be provided for ASI switching, of particular use in transport stream distribution and management. In this application, the output reclocking is disabled, and non-inverting outputs are provided.
