Eyeheight's LE-3G Hits Inter BEE 2014

News Image
Eyeheight's LE-3G 3G/HD/SD-SD video gamut legaliser is to be demoed at the 50th International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (Inter BEE) at the Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, November 19-21.

Eyeheight will be represented at the show by MTC Japan, exhibiting on stand 2202 in Hall 2.

Designed for use in television studios, broadcast ingest suites, post-production houses and playout facilities, the LE-3G is compatible with 1080i/50/59.94, 1080p50 and 1080p60, 1080p23.976/24/25/29.97, 720p/50/59.94, 625/50 and 525/59.94 television standards. Processing is to full 10-bit depth throughout.

The LE-3G incorporates an out-of-gamut-indicate output with a visual severity monitor display, showing the operator the location of any correction being carried out. An automation port provides PC-based access to preset parameters stored within the LE-3G. Firmware and software are fully updatable via file upload.

Detailed configuration can be performed via a menu system common to all products in Eyeheight's geNETics series. Backlit LCD pushbuttons guide the operator through control modes such as RGB, YUV or composite mode selection, clipping level, soft clipping knee, luma and chroma gain, black level, and hue rotation. Six user memories are available to store group settings. A timecode-referenced output log is generated for viewing via a connected PC.

Up to six LE-3G modules can be housed in a 1U Eyeheight FB-9E 19 inch chassis, together with a single auto-switching dual-redundant power supply. Each module can be operated under local control from an Eyeheight FP-9 generic control panel mounted in front of the chassis, or remotely.

Options for the Eyeheight LE-3G legalizer include a Java-based softPanel control and specific web application.

"The LE-3G has attracted a great deal of interest in Japan both for its very high quality and its ability to integrate with a very wide range of production and presentation infrastructure," says Eyeheight Sales Director, Martin Moore.

"The Japanese market is one of the most advanced and quality-conscious in the world. Single-touch presets enable fast configuration of the LE-3G to the 0 IRE pedestal used in Japan as well as to Europe's EBU-R103 standard or the 7.5 IRE pedestal required for content to be transmitted in the USA. The LE-3G provides fully automatic video legalization, ensuring full compliance with industry-agreed regulations for broadcast signal delivery."
