Sky Selects Canon Display

News Image
Sky will be adding Canon's DP-V3010 professional reference displays to its Mistika post-production systems.

Sky will be equipping its three high-end suites with Canon’s leading professional reference monitor, which delivers stunning 4K resolution alongside outstanding precision in colour reproduction. The DP-V3010 features a custom-developed image processor, designed and manufactured by Canon, which helps ensure consistent brightness and colour, making it easier to achieve a higher level of uniformity across the entire screen during post-production editing.
Chris Johns, Sky's Chief Engineer, Broadcast Strategy, commented: "We continuously strive to bring the highest quality programmes to our viewers. This means using the very best equipment. As we continue to lead the way in post-production, introducing the best hardware into that process is essential in delivering the high standards that our customers rightly expect from Sky."
The DP-V3010's 4096 x 2560 resolution means that its IPS LCD panel can display native DCI 4K video (4096 x 2160) without any scaling. The 30 inch reference screen also offers a wide 178° viewing angle to ensure true-to-life viewing for the entire production team.
During operation, the DP-V3010 maintains a high level of colour accuracy by automatically correcting any changing colour and luminosity over the course of time, guaranteeing stable display performance and high levels of reliability.
The DP-V3010 will be on display at Canon's booth at this year's IBC in Amsterdam, located in Hall 11, Stand E50.
