Jünger Audio Shortlisted For Prestigious Award

Jünger Audio has been shortlisted in the Audio and Post Production categories of the IABM Design & Innovation Awards.

The awards will be casting the spotlight on new solutions or products that bring benefit or create new opportunities to the broadcast and media industry.
Peter White, Chief Executive, IABM said: "We're delighted to announce the shortlisted candidates in our nine categories and highlight these pioneering products and services. Overall, the number and quality of entries are truly indicative of the talent and creativity inherent in the industry today. And, as we transition through some significant change, innovation and forward thinking have never been more important."
Jünger Audio's award entry in the Audio category was based on its D*AP8 MAP Edition, the only combination of broadcast audio codec and processor on the market that can carry out real-time metadata emulation, thus providing comprehensive quality control and loudness monitoring for anyone working in a production or broadcast environment.
"Metadata emulation is very important to the broadcast community," said Jünger Audio's CEO Peter Pörs. "It ensures that television audiences at home hear their programs the way producers and content creators intended them to be. All kinds of audio parameters, including Loudness levels, are controlled this way. In countries where you need to follow loudness recommendation it's vital that broadcasters can check exactly what consumers will hear before material leaves their facilities."
In the Post Production category, Jünger Audio has been shortlisted for its D*AP4 VAP Edition, which is designed to make life easier for engineers working in radio stations, TV production voice-over studios and feature film ADR facilities. This unique Voice Processor takes audio from a microphone input through a sophisticated dynamics section that incorporates Jünger Audio's proprietary Spectral Signature™ dynamic EQ - a totally new creative tool that offers consistent level and sound by analysing incoming audio and comparing its spectrum with individually predetermined voice 'fingerprints'.
"The D*AP4 VAP draws on our extensive experience with previous Voice Processing devices such as our popular VO2, but adds new tools and algorithms to create an easier and more efficient approach to voice processing with no compromise in sound quality," Peter Pörs said. "We have also included processing such as Spectral Signature™ dynamic equalization, versatile dynamics section, full parametric EQ and de-essing, and made the unit really easy to use – even for non-technical radio staff such as producers and journalists."
The IABM's shortlisted entries will be judged by a panel of independent specialists chaired by John Ive, Director of Business Development and Technology, IABM. Winners will be announced at the IABM reception and awards ceremony at IBC in Amsterdam on Saturday, 13 September at 18h30.
