Sue Ashtiany joins Channel 4 board

The Independent Television Commission have announced that Sue Ashtiany has been appointed to the Board of Channel 4.
Ms Ashtiany is a partner with city solicitors Nabarro Nathanson and heads the firm's Employment Group.
Born in Iran and educated in the UK, Ms Ashtiany worked with the UN High Commission for Refugees after undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Warwick and Birmingham Universities. She is the author of a Fabian pamphlet on Britain's Migrant Workers.
In 1986 she qualified as a lawyer and went on to establish one of the leading employment and discrimination law practices in the south-east before moving to Nabarro Nathanson in 2001. She is a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission, and Vice Chair of Oxfordshire Ambulance NHS Trust.
Ms Ashtiany's appointment is for a three year term, from July 2003 to 2006.
The ITC has also extended the appointment of Ian Ritchie to the Channel 4 board until the end of 2005.
The ITC appoints non-executive members of the Channel 4 Board with the agreement of the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
