eMotion deliver integrated solution to protect digital assets

eMotion Inc., the global leader of digital media management solutions, have announced a strategic partnership with top Digital Rights Management (DRM) provider, SealedMedia. Both companies' solutions will be integrated in order to provide greater protection of valuable assets from unauthorised use, as well as facilitate more secure e-commerce applications, such as still image and footage libraries.
DRM is a fundamental component to the digital media management lifecycle. With media assets easily accessible by anyone within an organisation or via the World Wide Web, it is essential to be able to track the ownership of these assets to ensure that only the right people have access. Most DRM solutions depend very much on the good will of the user to use in the correct manner once the asset has been downloaded. SealedMedia however, has taken the DRM approach one step further.
Digital assets of various forms (documents, images, audio and video) are 'sealed' with tamper-proof protection. Normal files - Word, Excel PowerPoint, HTML, MP3, PDF, gif, jpeg, QuickTime etc. - are transferred to sealed equivalents that behave much the same as the original files except that the end user must hold the appropriate rights before being able to access the sealed files. Usage rights can include time limited and concurrent usage restrictions and are stored completely separately from the sealed content. This allows the easy revocation of end user rights even after sealed content has been downloaded and accessed.
Jon Schupp, Vice President of Sales & Business Development, eMotion, said: "Extending the value of the media management chain is based on strong partnerships and technological integrations with organisations with similar strategy. The partnership with SealedMedia will provide eMotion customers with a secure way of accessing and re-using digital media assets both within the enterprise and for those with an e-Commerce model."
