Bryant Broadcast discover the 'Missing Link'

Bryant Broadcast and Data Communications have designed and are now manufacturing a range of one-piece, near 75 ohm, MUSA U-Links.
They have been designed to alleviate the problems associated with solder joints, knicked cables or internal junctions, causing SDI signal reflections or failures in video routing and patching.
All engineers are aware of the importance of 75 ohm matched impedance signal paths when connecting and patching Digital Video signals. The de-facto standard for video patching in the UK uses the MUSA connector and current designs of U-link leave a lot to be desired in the digital domain.
These new U-Links, available in both 1U and 2U use a precision turned, silver plated, one-piece centre conductor proven to both increase the signal handling capacity and protect the integrity of signals up to and including 5GHz (to cover seventh harmonic signals).
Designed to achieve the reliability associated with ‘fixed pin’ U-links, but with the flexibility, feel and unsurpassed signal handling of ‘floating pin’ designs, the all important continuous centre contact is housed within, while isolated from, a die-cast zinc alloy body. This is in turn mounted within a moulded white Nylon two-piece body with marker clips available in 10 colours for ease of signal identification.
Ergonomically designed for ease of insertion/extraction, they are compatible with existing analogue or digital MUSA patch bays.
When combined with Bryant Broadcast panel mount MUSA/BNC adaptors signal handling capacity is such that they can be used in HDTV installations.
Independently evaluated by the UK Standards Laboratory for Electromagnetic Measurement at DERA, these products show a marked improvement in return losses and bandwidth over any similar product available to date.
For over 20 years, Bryant Broadcast has been a ‘one stop’ source of installation equipment for contractors, system integrators and wiremen working in the professional audio, video, broadcast, theatre, studio, and OB sectors.
