Sachtler Offers Support for Sony PMW-F5 and -F55

News Image
The recent launch of Sony's PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 CineAlta cameras featuring a 4K image sensor has certainly been one of the big industry stories of the year so far.
The modular design makes countless set-ups in an array of weight classes possible and requires a fluid head tripod system which can match the variety of configuration possibilities.
Sachtler has announced its ENG/EFP fluid head bestsellers, the Video 18 S1, the Video 20 S1 as well as the Cine 7+7 HD and the Cine 30 HD, as ideal partners for Sony F5 and F55 projects.
According to the payload requirement of their set-ups, F5 and F55 filmmakers choose either the Video 18 S1 (2-18 kg / 4-40 lbs) or the Video 20 S1 (2-25 kg / 4-55 lbs).
This way users have enough leeway to equip cameras minimally (4-5 kg / 9-11 lbs) or elaborately with heavy lenses, handgrips, a matte box, monitors, and other accessories.
Both fluid heads come with the Sachtler Speedbalance technology and the Boost Button. With the 16-step counterbalance, the camera set-up can be balanced precisely and instantly.
In order to align even extremely front or back heavy camera configurations so that the C.O.G. is directly above the pivot point of the head, Sachtler has developed the 150 mm long C.O.G. Plate (Order Code 1063), with which the Video 18 S1 as well as the Video 20 S1 can be enhanced.
If a complex set-up has to be mounted on the tripod system, the sideload mechanism of the Sachtler Cine 7+7 HD fluid head helps.
It enables the user to mount and remove the complete camera set-up from the side. Together with Speedbalance technology, the Boost Button, and the 16-step counterbalance, the especially long 150 mm sliding range of the camera plate enables counterbalancing of camera set-ups of up to 22 kg (48 lbs).
For all of the even heavier set-ups, the 150 mm Cine 30 HD fluid head is available with sideload and ARRI dove-tail compatibility (payload of up to 35 kg/77 lbs with a 125 mm C.O.G.).
Features such as the phosphorescent touch bubble and the parking position for spare screws finish off the camera support package. The Video 18 S1 as well as the Video 20 S1 and the Cine 7+7 HD can all be combined with all of the robust and quickly mountable Sachtler tripods from the 100 mm range. The 100/150 adapter (Order Code 3901) expands the range of selection to include the Cine 30 HD 150 mm tripods.
