WORK Microwave Introduce New DVB-S2 Multistream Functionality

WORK Microwave has introduced a powerful new DVB-S2 multistream functionality to its extensive line of demodulator solutions, including the company's flagship SDD-TS and SDD-DV systems.
Designed to complement WORK Microwave's existing multistream modulator and DaVid modem product lines, the new technology enables satellite providers to seamlessly demodulate up to six transport streams and IP data from a single carrier, reducing the amount of equipment required for uplink and downlink operations and optimizing efficiencies. WORK Microwave will demonstrate its multistream demodulator solutions for the first time at SATELLITE 2013 in Washington, D.C., March 19-21, at booth 6101.
The multistream demodulators have been enhanced with a sophisticated set of technical features and capabilities. The MT6 option enables users to simultaneously demodulate up to six streams from a single carrier. Operators can now freely assign transport streams to ASI and transport stream (TS) over IP outputs, using the same stream for multiple outputs. The completely configurable demodulators also include a baseband output option in parallel to TS processing for increased flexibility. Customized solutions that support above and beyond the standard six streams are available, providing operators with optimum flexibility while setting a new industry standard in transport efficiency.
The demodulators support a wide range of options, including null packet reinsertion and timing alignment (short and long ISSY, BUFS, BUFSTAT), allowing latency and buffer control from the transmission side. The input stream synchronizer (ISSY) helps operators avoid jitter and time lapses. Detailed monitoring of stream parameters such as buffer behavior, timing, latency, and de-aggregation statistics provide the operator with total control.
Ideal for satellite newsgathering and local cable distribution applications, WORK Microwave's DVB-S2 demodulator series also offers a wide range of additional features designed to enhance video contribution and distribution, including generic stream encapsulation and the 16APSK and 32APSK higher modulation schemes. Additionally, an integrated OptiACM or VideoACM controller provides an adaptive or variable FEC and modulation setting for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint transmissions.
