Banjay International Confirms New Entertainment Deal

As Discop West Asia opens, Banijay International has confirmed a significant new entertainment deal in the region with the local production of its original diving format 'Stars in Danger: The High Dive' about to be adapted in Turkey.
Turkish company Medyapim is producing 10 x 90' episodes to launch later this month for Turkey's format channel Show TV.
This new deal is addition to broadcasters Fox US, Jiangsu Satellite Television China, Telecinco Spain, Mediaset Italy, V Canada, TV2 Norway and TV3 in Sweden who have already licensed the format. The most recent to launch is Canada’s Le Grand Saut (The Big Jump), which more than doubled V's average prime time ratings in the first of its 8 episodes last week, drawing a 23% share in the target 18-49 demographic.
Pelin Dogru, Head of Format Acquisition & Implementation at Show TV commented: "We are both happy and excited to announce that once again we are pioneering a huge and original format from Banijay. The pre-production period has already picked up speed and we are more than sure that as soon as we are on air Stars in Danger: The High Dive will be the talk of Turkey."
Karoline Spodsberg, Managing Director Banijay International, added: "Distributors are always looking for formats that not only have a strong track record in their primary territory but that can translate easily into other markets. The fact that it is now travelling to MENA, having already broken into regions such as North America, Asia, Northern Europe and Southern Europe, shows that Stars in Danger: The High Dive is one of those dream formats. I'm confident that in Show TV we have found the perfect Turkish partner and I'm sure that this new style of entertainment format will get their audience buzzing."
In Stars in Danger: The High Dive celebrity contestants are trained and coached by some of the world’s greatest divers, before competing in a series of Olympic-style dives, such as solo high diving and synchronized diving, from a variety of heights ranging from 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 meters. An expert judging panel will award points and eventually narrow down the men, women and teams until the finalists battle it out, dive for dive, to determine the ultimate champion. Viewers will get a poolside look at the courage and perseverance, as well as the twists, turns and flips that go into turning a celebrity into a diver who is ready to step to the edge to take a flying leap or momentous belly flop into diving history.
Visit Banijay International at viewing booth number 10 in Bosphorus Hall during Discop West Asia.
