Hiltron HSACU Satellite Newsgathering Controller Attracts Positive Response
Hiltron GmbH reports a positive and successful Broadcast Asia 2012. Held at the Suntec centre in Singapore 19-22 June, the event attracted over 15,000 participants from more than 80 countries.
Co-exhibiting alongside two sister companies within the Dan Technologies Group (ATG Broadcast and Danmon Asia), Hiltron introduced its HSACU satellite newsgathering controller to the Asia-Pacific market. Compatible with all leading motorised satellite newsgathering antennas, it provides fully-automated satellite auto-acquisition. The HSACU is designed for integration into SNG trucks or for refurbishment of existing SNG antenna control systems. Housed in a compact rack-mountable chassis, the controller allows precise adjustment of three-axis motorised antennas up to 2.4 metres diameter. Azimuth, elevation and polarisation control are performed entirely in software.
"Our main areas of activity to date have been Europe and the Middle East," comments Hiltron Managing Director Michael Schiestl. "BroadcastAsia is a useful platform from which to reach markets in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. These six areas collectively attracted over 75 per cent of attendees at this year's show. Our Danmon Asia colleagues are currently establishing new corporate premises in Hanoi which will provide a direct presence in Vietnam, confirming Dan Technologies' commitment to delivering supporting customers within the region itself. This is a useful addition to the Middle East office which ATG Broadcast opened recently in Dubai."
"We also experienced a good cross-fertilisation of visitors from the telecommunications sector who attended BroadcastAsia's companion exhibition and conference, CommunicAsia. Between them, the two events also gave us the opportunity to speak with all the major suppliers we deal with as a satcom systems integration company. Network managers in the Asia-Pacific region, as elsewhere, recognise the reliability and guaranteed low-latency achieved by using dedicated satellite links for live mainstream outside broadcast events as well as for studio-to-transmitter feeds."
