Technicolor UK Appoints New Head Of Operations For Digital Cinema

Creative Services has appointed Richard Welsh as the Head of Operations for Digital Cinema UK.
Reporting to Tom Cotton, Vice President of Technicolor Creative Services UK, Richard will lead and manage the Digital Cinema Operations in the UK to continue to deliver a first class service to Technicolor’s clients. He will be responsible for all mastering, distribution, and client services for theatrical releases, fully engaging all resources across Technicolor’s UK facilities at Pinewood Studios, Lexington Street and Perivale.
After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Media Technology from Southampton Solent University, Richard joined Dolby Laboratories as a Sound Consultant and held a number of roles progressing to the position of Director of Digital Cinema Services. During that time Richard led the client relations, technical services, content distribution and logistics teams servicing a range of organizations across movies, music and advertising.
Richard has extensive expertise in motion picture services for both image and sound gained from his career to date, and during this time has developed a number of proprietary tools and patented techniques. Richard’s experience saw him join the Board of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (EMPTE) in 2011.
