Roland Systems Announces VR-3 A/V Mixer

Roland Systems Group will use the backdrop of InterBEE – the International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition taking place in Tokyo - to showcase the new Roland VR-3, a fully integrated audio mixer and video switcher designed for live production and web streaming.
The VR-3 will be available January 2012 through Roland Systems Group’s authorized resellers.
This unique product combines the power of Roland’s audio and video technology into one unit and expands the growing lineup of AV Mixers and streaming-ready solutions from Roland.
Like the popular Roland VR-5, the “all-in-one” design of the VR-3 greatly simplifies production and streaming of live events. The VR-3’s innovative design incorporates a video switcher, audio mixer, preview monitors and streaming-ready USB output all in a compact, single unit.
As a USB Video/Audio class device (for web streaming or recording with a PC/Mac), web streaming is effortless by simply connecting the VR-3 via the USB port to a computer which is running a live streaming service such as USTREAM.
The VR-3 is extremely portable – the size of an A4 piece of paper and weighing 2kg. The reduction in hardware equipment, setup time and connection complexity makes the VR-3 an ideal solution for schools, churches, public meetings, corporate events, sports or production live to the web.
This 4-Channel (4 Mono (XLR or ¼”) and 2 stereo mixable audio) video switcher/ mixer boasts a built-in stereo microphone for mixing in ambient sound as well as a built-in scan converter to enable the PC input to be mixed with other video sources.
An intuitive touch screen interface provides a quick and easy way to switch video sources as well to access menus or to view four inputs and the output at one time. Digital audio effects include Noise Gate, EQ, Reverb, Noise Suppressor, enhancer and master Lo/Hi filters, whilst compositing video effects include keying, split screen and picture-in-picture.
