Lighthouse Installs Highest Resolution LED Screen In Hong Kong Shopping Mall

Leading LED screen manufacturer Lighthouse Technologies has supplied one of Hong Kong's largest shopping and commercial complexes, amp, with an ultra-high resolution 4mm LED screen.
amp, owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties, is situated in East Kowloon and is a showpiece of modern architecture. Its name is derived from a combination of am and pm, reflecting its innovative late night shopping concept, with retailers opening from early morning until midnight, restaurants until 2am and entertainment spots until dawn.
Lighthouse's Managing Director Peter Chan said: "amp is Sun Hung Kai's flagship property and, as such, they wanted to have the very best LED screen available on the market. They were extremely happy with the high quality of a previous Lighthouse screen, and with the service that Lighthouse provides, they decided to replace it with a higher resolution alternative."
Impressed again with the quality of the company's products and service, plus its mission statement and vision for the future, amp decided to award Lighthouse the contract.
The resulting installation of a Lighthouse P4-S LED screen, measuring 7.04m wide by 3.84m high (11 by 8 panels), is situated between amp's UC and L1 floor concourse. It was completed in July and replaces the aforementioned Lighthouse 10mm pixel pitch screen.
P4-S has a 4mm pixel pitch, Lighthouse's highest resolution to date, and a brightness of 2,000 nits. The screen provides excellent contrast ratios, and an enhanced grey scale, promising unrivalled colour reproduction. Its ultra-high resolution shows every detail of the displayed image and allows for extremely close viewing distances, whilst its fanless design guarantees quiet operation. This combination makes it the ideal choice for displaying a mixture of advertising, live feed from events and promotional messages from the shopping centre.
Mr Chan continued: "A challenge of the installation was the need to have a product that allowed maintenance from a very narrow service behind the screen. The construction of P4-S allowed us to meet this requirement.
