Harris Delivers On Media Convergence Leadership Promise At IBC 2011

At IBC 2011, Harris' capability to integrate various technologies under one platform to create a diversity of digital age broadcast workflows will be showcased on its stand (7.G20).
From HD to 3D and the latest developments in server-based broadcast technology, the company will exhibit a range of building block products and systems that progressive media organisations are using to grow revenue streams based on emerging new media business models.
Whether it's taking modern news beyond the capabilities of any single media platform, expanding capabilities to deliver on new business commitments or harnessing the broadcast industry's first media convergence platform to transform business operations in an increasingly IP-based world, Harris will use IBC 2011 to re-emphasise its strategic position as technology partner of choice to many leading international broadcasters and media organisations.
The Harris Selenio media convergence platform will make its first European trade show appearance at IBC. Harris will illustrate how Selenio empowers system architects to integrate baseband and broadband signal types within the same cost-effective infrastructure. It will report on how this sophisticated media convergence platform is already providing efficient solutions to real-world convergence challenges within broadcast and electronic media operations worldwide.
Richard Scott, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Services for Harris Broadcast Communications, said: "For many years, industry observers have talked up media convergence. At IBC 2011, we will show that already we are delivering on the promise of a new and radically different approach to this challenge. At IBC 2011, we will provide insight to opportunities that are already available to broadcasters and media organisations. We will demonstrate why Harris is leading this change process and we welcome dialogue with anybody that is interested in harnessing the new media business building blocks that we have developed."
Harris will also demonstrate new products, features and applications in many of its core areas of expertise in broadcast and production, including: servers, storage and editing, routers and multiviewers, signal processing, transmission, automation and digital asset management, targeted advertising, and test and measurement.
