Broadcast Technology previews IBC products

Broadcast Technology have announced the products which they will be highlighting at IBC 2002 on stand 5.129.
The BTL 3000 Series, 3U-rack plus a range of front-loading cards, meeting DVB and ATSC specifications will be showcased. First in this series are three DVB receiver modules and a decoder.
The stand will be demonstrating the DTSR 3000 digital satellite television receiver for QPSK-DVB (S) signals; DTTR 3000 digital terrestrial television receiver, COFDM demodulator for DVB (T) signals; DTCR 3000 digital cable television receiver for DVB (C) QAM signals; DTVD 3000 MPEG-2 4:2:2 video and audio decoder; ASI Multi Programme.
A new release is the DTSM 700 Data Stream Monitor MPEG Transport Stream Measuring unit, accurate to 1 ppm. 1U case, with alarm outputs.
The DTSM 700 is a highly compact and competitively priced data stream monitor. Occupying 1 U of 19-inch rack space, it is designed primarily to establish why COFDM modulators fail or reset for unexplained reasons when connected to telco feeds at remote transmitter sites.
Suitable for 188, 204 and 208 byte packet length data streams and for fibre-optic as well as copper systems, the unit is fully ASI - DVB compliant. In addition to its primary function of monitoring ASI feeds, the DTSM 700 measures transport stream sync pulse jitter, data byte spacing, transport stream packets in either burst or byte mode, and null packet bit measurement. It also gives ASI character violations.
Also new is the DTMD 1000 COFDM demodulator, which is a professional COFDM modulator with a 70 MHz IF output in addition to UHF output.
Designed to meet the needs of set-top box software houses and hardware manufacturers, the DTMD 1000 includes data rate monitoring on the incoming transport stream; null packets are added automatically when the data rate is below the correct rate, thus ensuring a corrected rate at the IF output.
Also on show will be: the DTCR 1000 digital television cable receiver; DTSR 1000 digital television satellite receiver; DTTR 1000 digital television terrestrial receiver; and the DTVD 1000 professional MPEG-2 decoder.
Founded in 1987, Broadcast Technology specialises in manufacturing high-quality test equipment, signal switchers, distribution amplifiers, signal converters and digital terrestrial signal receivers for use in broadcasting and telecommunications.
