Scrub Upgrades Audio Facilities At New Unit Location

Following the rapid growth experienced since its inception just four years ago, London post-house Unit has moved to a new building at 50 Great Marlborough Street.
The move to the new 9,400 square foot building nearly doubles the capacity of its former Carlisle Street premises. It boasts 19 online edit suites, a 28-bay VFX studio and grading services on Baselight. Unit has also invested in a pair of 5.1 audio suites with upgraded Pro Tools HD and Focal monitoring systems supplied by Scrub. The new building will provide clients with integrated, end-to-end offline editing, finishing and audio expertise all under one roof.
Simon Robertson, Unit Technical Manager, reported: "We've always been a Pro Tools-based house so it made perfect sense to upgrade our existing systems for greater TDM processing capacity and mixing Dolby surround. The opportunity to build two brand new suites from scratch allowed us to take a fresh look at areas like monitoring and we've had great client feedback on the new Focal 5.1 systems."
A full demo of the monitors for the Unit team was organised by Scrub - a service typically provided by the Soho-based specialists in audio technology for post.
Robertson continued: "Scrub has an excellent reputation in the post community and Unit has had an ongoing relationship with them for many years. Throughout the planning and execution of this project, the support and input from Scrub has been excellent as always. We achieved our intention of moving and upgrading two sound suites with minimal disruption and we completed exactly on time - a direct result of working with a focused, pro active supplier and a great design and build team."
Commenting on behalf of Scrub, Sales Manager Tina Wallace said: "Unit has always been a pleasure to work with and this project was no exception. From initial demo to delivery deadline was one of the tightest turnarounds we have ever completed and everything went really smoothly."
