AKA Makes The News

One of the UK's largest independent Systems Integrators, dB Broadcast, has awarded AKA Design the contract to supply nearly 100 technical desks for the BBC's new Broadcasting House in London.
AKA is delighted to have been selected as the technical furniture supplier for the video production and news areas at the BBC's new 80,000 sq metre facility in Portland Place.
The AKA technical furniture will be used in four state-of-the-art studio galleries, which will house the BBC's television news channels being re-located to Broadcasting House, 25 edit and reporters desks and 31 graphics workstations.
AKA has been working closely with systems integrators dB Broadcast to ensure the final product meets the exacting technical and layout requirements for this flagship facility.
AKA's experience gained through the development of its own product range over the past seven years has enabled them to supply desks that not only fulfil the BBC's brief but also look stylish and meet the budget.
Over the last three years AKA has been increasingly undertaking projects for Broadcast operations including MTV's European HQ in the Netherlands and numerous African sports channels. Alistair Davies, AKA's Operations Director, said: "Everyone who has been involved in this project at AKA has worked tirelessly on what was a technically challenging requirement and we are immensely proud to have won such a prestigious project. I am confident this will demonstrate AKA as a clear contender for future Broadcast projects and look forward to seeing the first desks installed on site early in 2011."
