Front Porch Digital Announce CABSAT Preview

At CABSAT 2011, Front Porch Digital will exhibit with its Middle Eastern service bureau partner, StreamPort Media, to highlight its DIVASolutions Migrate product line, SAMMA solutions.
Front Porch Digital has enhanced the global versatility, interoperability and functionality of its SAMMA family of products for migrating media content from videotape to safe, secure and readily accessible file-based formats. SAMMA products displayed will include SAMMAclean, SAMMAsolo and SAMMArobot.
Front Porch Digital and StreamPort Media will deliver a joint paper on the topic of Migration Issues and Strategies. The session is scheduled for February 8 at 2pm in the CABSAT Academy Vendor Presentation Room.
Another Front Porch Digital partner, systems integrator Salam Media Cast, will showcase Front Porch Digital's DIVASolutions Manage product line with its award-winning DIVArchive solutions.
The enhanced DIVArchive solutions feature full Unicode asset support and are capable of full integration with popular media industry editing and production tools, including Avid Interplay, Apple Final Cut Pro and Apple Final Cut Server. DIVArchive products displayed will include DIVArchive and DIVAdirector.
SAMMArobot is an automated high throughput migration system that provides up to 1,000 hours a week of videotape content conversion. The SAMMArobot is loaded with batches of between 48 and 80 videotapes, depending on format, and migrates up to seven tapes simultaneously, each with their own settings for error detection and multiple digital file outputs.
A number of configurations of SAMMArobot are available to meet specific needs. The system can be configured as a single format solution for 60 Betacam or VHS, 48 U-matic, or 80 DVDCAM/DVCPro cassettes handling NTSC, PAL, or SECAM. This streamlined robotic system provides high-speed, high-quality and cost-effective migration for large videotape libraries.
Front Porch Digital DIVAdirector is an easy-to-use and cost-effective media asset management (MAM) system that enables operators, using their Web browsers, to search, locate and retrieve stored media assets directly from their desktops. At CABSAT, Front Porch Digital will introduce V4.1, which adds a revamped and simplified browser interface; support for identification and retrieval of clips with noncontiguous timecode (very important for the archivist and preservation community); partial-restore format auto detection to further simplify user interaction with the complex format/wrapper challenges handled by DIVArchive; and management of remote proxies without the need for their replication specifically for DVIAdirector. In addition, DIVAdirector V4.1 offers enhanced integration with Front Porch Digital's SAMMA Solo system, the compact, turnkey, single-stream solution for migrating media content from fragile videotape to secure, long-term digital storage.
