Stream UK Platforms Drives

One of Europe's leading providers of technically advanced digital media solutions, based on streaming technologies, Stream UK has announced successful work for a London institute.
In its partnership with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Stream is providing advanced webcasting production, software and management systems in order to streamline the process of content creation and distribution for
IET is one of the world's leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community, and is a broadband television service, which connects users to lectures, seminars, conferences and news webcasts.
The IET provides webcasting services to hundreds of leading global companies and brands
A spokesman said that for the webcast offering, the key challenge was to offer brandable and interactive webcast interfaces that can be delivered across a world-class network.
Stability of delivery is vital, as is the ability to provide the service at very short notice. High quality media and a seamless synchronisation with presentations must be delivered every time.
The solution was Stream Connect, Stream UK's webcasting administration tool. Webcasts are now being delivered (both live and on demand) with Stream Connect, benefitting from the tool's interactive options, automatic archiving, and reliable delivery platform.
This allows the IET to provide a corporate space to deliver presentations, product launches and demonstrations and similarly provide academic institutions a space to stream conferences and lectures.
Additionally, the IET had a huge archive of media content which needed to be standardised to allow rapid categorisation and distribution on
To meet this challenge, Stream UK have migrated the back catalogue of content onto the Stream UK Crowdsourcer platform (used by the BBC) to drive's channel-based site structure.
By combining automated transcoding with intuitive moderation and distribution tools, the use of Stream Crowdsourcer within this solution demonstrates how the platform can be used retrospectively with existing media as well as providing advanced content management for the future.
