SMK Electronics To License Movea's MotionIC Platform Technologies

Movea and SMK-Europe NV has announced a licensing agreement to integrate Movea's patented MotionIC platform technologies into SMK's next generation remote control designs.
Under the agreement, SMK and Movea establish a development relationship and business partnership to jointly develop a product prototype that will be released at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam and promoted to leading PayTV Service Providers and Set-Top Box manufacturers.
The partners will be co-promoting the new motion remote with Movea showing the product in a private meeting room in the Novotel Hotel near the RAI Convention Centre. SMK will also be showing the product, based on its "Jade" remote control from factor, and leading discussions with Service Providers on emerging digital television services that will leverage Movea's MotionIC technology through a new breed of set-top box and motion-driven UI's for navigating digital media.
