BECTU Urges Wiring Submissions

With a deadline looming at the end of March, broadcast union BECTU members are being encouraged to have their views heard on new electrical regulations.
A BECTU circular said "Members are advised that the industry's current electrical standards are due to be revised this month.
"The changes to BS7909 :2008 are being considered partially to keep up with a revision of BS7671 :2008, the so-called IEE Wiring Regulations, and also to correct any shortcomings in the current Standard/Code of Practice.
"It is possible for individuals to submit comments online via a page on the BSI website at standardsproposals.bsigroup.com/Home/Proposal/78
The scope and purpose of the changes are indicated on the page. Anyone wanting to comment will need to register to do this on the website. The deadline for comment is 31 March.
